As you may be aware a planning application has been made to demolish numbers 22 and 22a Thornton Road and replace them with a building containing 27 self-contained flats.

We will be objecting to the proposed development for a number of reasons, including over development and traffic / parking issues.

Some of you may already be planning to object directly to the council. However, we would be grateful if you would sign a petition that we will arrange at the school.

We will submit the petition along with our formal objection and we will also send it to our local councilors to help ensure their support in rejecting the application.

The developers behind this Thornton Road disaster clearly assumed we would just roll over and let them ruin our neighborhood. This surge in support proves they were dead wrong and now our local councilors will have no choice but to face the heat.

I strongly disagree with this new development going ahead. It will increase traffic on a road that has a number of primary and kindergarten schools on it. It will stand out from the rest of the road which is full of quaint, beautiful houses. To build a development of such a scale would be to ruin the culture of Thornton Road. I am strongly opposed.

I do not agree with application based on the following points: • The siting, design and external appearance of the proposed development does not fit in with the neighbouring properties. • Significant loss of sunlight, daylight and outlook to neighbouring properties • Loss of privacy to neighbouring properties • Inadequate parking and access arrangements, leading to additional traffic • Potential loss of trees

i strongly disagree with the proposed development for several reasons. The increase in traffic, this is already a concern as vehicles use it as a cut through and at time speed down this normally quite road. The planned development is grossly over developed. Parking is a great concern, as isnt reflected in the plans the impact this would cause to residents. plus many more objections.

I the application is ill considered and will cause traffic issues. Also creating significant issues and danger for local school children. This application does not represent the family dwellings already in Thornton Road.

This is an ill considered application which would result in massive overcrowding and disruption. To go from 2 individual dwellings to 27 on the same footprint appears ludicrous especially when such poor provision for parking has been submitted in an area in which it is already difficult to park. The disruption and safety risks to the neighbouring school would be intolerable.

Permission for this development should not be granted for the following reasons 1) the additional traffic will create safety concerns for children at two local schools 2) the development is out of context for the area which is built up of 2 storey building from the 1930s (?) and 3) it compromises the views of a grade II listed building as you walk along Thornton Rd.

I strongly oppose this planned development because it willl create additional traffic, parking and endanger children crossing roads whilst attending nearby schools.

I strongly oppose this planned development because it is close to two schools and will create additional traffic/dangers to children trying to cross roads, not just during the week but also at weekends and in other times. The majority of children live very close to the school.
