M&P Holdings, out of Harvey LA, has requested the City of Gulfport Planning Commission to rezone parcels on Beach Blvd. / Cowan Rd and Georgia Pl. to T5 in order to allow for the development of a RV Trailer Park.
We are asking the residents of Gulfport to sign the petition in order to STOP the development of a RV Trailer Park. This petition will be presented to the City of Gulfport Planning Commission on December 15,2022 and City Council members in order to let them know that the citizens of Gulfport do not support the development of a RV Trailer Park at this location. The areas adjacent and surrounding the proposed RV Trailer Park are residential. The nearest commercial development is 0.6 miles to the west and 3.0 miles to the east in the City of Biloxi.
The petition is to REJECT REZONING PARCELS 1011C01-010.000 and 1010N04-029.000 to T5 WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE DEVELOPMENT OF A RV TRAILER PARK ON THESE PARCELS. THIS DEVELOPMENT IS NOT IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE ADJACENT AND SURROUNDING RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS. THE PROPERTY IS BEST SUITED FOR RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES TO KEEP IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE CURRENT PROPERTIES ON BEACH BLVD. IN THIS AREA OF GULFPORT.

The momentum behind this effort has grown significantly in recent days. It is encouraging to see our community align on the importance of preserving the character of our residential neighborhoods.

This RV development at this location takes away from the "Frist Impression" we want visitors to have when they arrive. The clearing of the land and this development will lower the property values of the existing neighborhood. Please, do not allow this to happen!
Council members need to explain why the original zoning was incorrect before making a change which is essentially an exception - you wouldn't allow certain people to break speed limits so why allow certain people to go against long-term zoning rules?
Cowan Road is a main artery feeding into I-10 and passing St. James Catholic Church and School. We do not need the problems this would create by exposing church-goers, parents picking up elementary school children to the increased traffic of large, cumbersome vehicles traveling to and from the proposed RV park. This land should remain zoned residential. RV parks properly belong in less populated areas.
This is residential property as it was condos before Katrina I do not support putting an RV park this close to my home.
I do not want the RV park. It will make my property value on Georgia Place go down. I have lived here for over 30 years.
Lets keep Gulfport a nice Up & Coming City With reasonable and environmental developments

Building anything but residential would destroy the neighborhood on Georgia place and there is a legal covenant to keep this from happening. Please don't make our residential community commercial. We have put a lot of money into buying and restoring this beautiful area....don't sell us out!!!
