Petition To Rezone 108 Indian village Rd
Dear Neighbor, Dear Friend
Please consider signing this petition to have 108 Indian Village Rd rezoned to a CBF-1. This would allow for opportunities to use our land other than just recreational use. This land has been in our family for decades and we as a family wish to rezone for a possible Swamp Touring business. This land, nor this community is a stranger to this type of business. Our family is responsible for having started one of the first touring services in this area. Captain Roy McManus had Swamp Monster Swamp Tours years prior at this very location. Our family has been and continue's to be discriminated against for wanting to carry on the tradition of a touring company as of today on our land. In fact official documents from St. Tammany Parish Planning and Development Department staff shared in writing that they are not opposed to this proposition for rezoning from residential to a CBF-1. Our families aim is to have an environmentally conscious, family friendly and community based Eco tour on this plot once again. This matter is to be reheard as an appeal before the planning and zoning council April 2, 2020 at 6pm in the Council Chambers located on Koop Dr Mandeville Louisiana. Your help and voice is greatly needed in this matter. We as a family are very proud of our community and culture and take great pleasure in sharing our way of life with others. Our goal is to reverse the past ruling by the council as of March 2 ,2020. There were others from our community with a personal agenda that swayed the council by using false accusations that we plan to dispute by way of appeal. By signing this document would allow for the council to see others in our immediate area and abroad have no issues with our family wanting to do these activities at 108 Indian Village Rd. Please consider our proposition and the needed assistance of your signature in this dispute.
Sincerely Thank You
The McManus and Peltier Family

I just looked at the screen and saw the number one hundred sitting there which is honestly surreal because my coffee is barely cold. It really hits home seeing so many people wanting to bring back the swamp tours and honestly it makes me think about Grandpa Roy so much right now. Thank you for being in our corner while we try to fix this zoning mess.

Seeing the count tick up toward two hundred fifty is wild because I keep thinking about how Roy used to run those tours right on this same mud and water. We really need to get this push moving faster right now so please send this link to a few people before we have to go back in front of them.

I went on these tours as a child and would love to show my children the splendor of this area with a family I know and trust.
Roy McManus, was one of the first Swamp Tour Captains in the area who owned, "Swamp Monster Tours" at that location. I remember going there years ago to meet with Mr. McManus because he had a copy of the plaster track that my grandfather gave him to display there. He gave me my first commercial Honey Island Swamp Tour. Their family deserves the chance to make use of their land's riverfront commercial potential AGAIN. Thank you.
I think it’s an awesome idea and would not only bring more revenue to our Parish but would keep what we as Louisianains are known for.
Great family and great people I’d love to see them run their own swamp tour BACK on their property like they should be allowed!!!!!
Let them build we need more knowledgeable people in that field so tourists who visit truly know how beautiful our land is

Rezone! Let these combined families carry on the tradition of a touring company as they wish. Let's keep the traditions alive. History of our community and the marsh going for many generations to visit and see.
