AS OF AUGUST 4, 2015 @ 9pm --- REZONE DENIED! UNANIMOUS VOTE TO KEEP RURAL CONSERVATION!

Thank you all for your support. We won this battle!

At the Board of Commissioners meeting, a public hearing was set regarding the rezoning of two properties located at the SW corner of Fischer Rd. and Raymond Hill from Rural Conservation to Commercial. The petitioner wants to build a Dollar General. This will be near the Hall's store. The public hearing will be held August 4th at 6pm. If you oppose this rezoning our District Commissioner is Rodney Brooks and he can be made aware of your opinions: [email protected] or 404.557.5942.

This petition was created to vote AGAINST the rezoning of two properties located at the corner of Fischer and Raymond Hill to make it commercial and FOR the current rural conservation zoning.

Please sign if you are against the rezoning and wish to keep the area Rural Conservation and do not want a Dollar General or any other commercial property in that area. Also, when you sign if you could put what neighborhood or street (if main road) that you reside in that would help in validating signatures.

Here is the link with the county information in regards to this proposal: http://www.coweta.ga.us/Index.aspx?page=1796 Please review, this proposal will impact the quality of our community, traffic, and potential for addition commercial development.

REMEMBER YOUR VOICE COUNTS AND CAN BEST BE HEARD BY CALLING OR EMAILING Rodney Brooks: [email protected] or 404.557.5942

or attending the meeting in person. The time and place for the Public Hearing will be at 6:00 P.M., August 4, 2015 in the County Commission Meeting Room, second floor, above the Tax Assessors Office, in the County Administration Building, 37 Perry Street, Newnan, Georgia.

We will find a way to provide this petition - whether electronically or printed - to the Commissioners prior to the meeting on August 4th at 6pm.

** DUE TO NEED TO PRINT NUMEROUS COPIES THIS PETITION HAS BEEN SENT TO THE PRINTERS THIS MORNING IN ORDER TO HAVE IT READY FOR PRESENTATION TUESDAY NIGHT. HOWEVER, KEEP SIGNING, A VERBAL END TALLY WILL BE GIVEN AT THE MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT AT 6PM. LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE! **

Current streets are no thru truck streets and cannot handle eighteen wheelers. Fischer road is suppose to be a bike route. Commercial needs to be in Fischer Crossing and there is already a Dollar General a few miles down the road.

I live in the Strathmore Subdivision and do not want the Fischer/Raymond Hill intersection to be even more congested. And I'm concerned for Hall's Grocery, a much-loved family-owned business that would be hurt by a Dollar General store.

We live off of Minix and want to protect our rural area. Please do not put a DG there. Not only will a DG bring unwanted business, it would take away from the safety of the intersection and take away from a local business. Please listen to what we want as a community!

There are similar stores at Thomas Crossing and in Palmetto & Tyrone. No more are needed. Also considering the current traffic in this area the addition of a Dollar General would only serve to exacerbate the problem. Let's keep the area residential.

I live less than 1 mile from this intersection. I am strongly opposed to having Dollar General as my new neighbor. I moved here because I wanted to live in a rural area. A Dollar General will not only increase traffic, but lower my property value. I vote NO!

When you do a search on the DG website you will find 8 Dollar General stores within a 10 mile radius or LESS of my address in Britain Woods off of Fisher Rd. To allow them to add another location to the list is preposterous and a poor use of real estate.

I don't think the community is lacking anything that will make you think we need a dollar general store please don't mess with the great look of the small town feel I look it just the way it is. If the store get build people will start to move out of the community
