PETITION AGAINST REZONING PARCEL 16-20950-000, CORNER OF Euston & Commonwealth
UPDATE: We WON this one!! The Planning Commission voted AGAINST the request to rezone this parcel to commercial. Next Steps: Cooper Communities has the right to appeal to the City Council. We need to keep this petition going until this is over. I will post updates to this site. Thank you for continuing to forward this to all Bella Vista residents.
There is a zoning request by Cooper Communities to commercialize parcel 16-20950-000, which is at the corner of Euston & Commonwealth in Bella Vista. This is the same corner that Dollar General requested to rezone to commercial last year so they could put a Dollar General Store there.
This is a heavily populated residential area. Residents raise their families here and enjoy retirement here because of the natural elements and the safety of our residential neighborhoods. It is our opinion that this will compromise the quality of life that residents currently enjoy.
We the undersigned are AGAINST the commercialization of our residential areas. We ask our Bella Vista Planning Commission and our City Council members to vote against any request to rezone parcels into commercial zones.

A dollar general at this location is unnecessary and would be an eyesore. That area and trail is used so much by people out enjoying the beauty of Bella Vista. There is plenty of shopping within minutes. I did not purchase property up here to live in town!!
I am opposed to this rezoning request. It would cause enormous traffic challenges, put children, walkers, riders at risk, and negatively impact nearby property values. We are on Lake Brittany and use Commonwealth and Euston nearly everyday. Commercial properties do not belong in this area
If you need to build a commercial building, build it on Lancashire in that big empty commercialized lot or update Town center. Bella Vista is becoming less of a haven and more of a detriment to peace.
Please keep our community safe and keep this zoned as residential. Zoning this as commercial would create numerous safety hazards for the community, especially all of the children that frequent this corner, getting to and from the pool, playgrounds, etc.
Cooper owns lots of parcels zoned Comercial, there is no need to redone this property. The entire Town Center with half of the space not utilized plus over 113 acres around that area are comercial.
I am opposed to Zoning this property for commercial use. The intersections itself is a busy one with traffic going to Metfield clubhouse and the park/ skills course. In addition there is a paved walking/ biking trail that borders 2 sides of that lot. Those trails have a lot of traffic. The other 2 sides of that parcel are residential areas which would be negatively impacted by a change.
I am opposed to zoning this parcel for commercial. This parcel is located on a corner where families and retirees walk, bike and enjoy the nature of Bella Vista. It is not an appropriate location for a commercial business

No commercial zoning at that intersection, detracts from the land values of the neighborhood. We purchased last year and would not have purchased if we had known a commercial property practically in our backyard.
