The local planning commission has formally rejected the proposal for the apartment complex on Brenford Road. I am grateful for the collective commitment that brought this result to fruition. We will continue to monitor the area to ensure that future development aligns with the established character of our community.

This petition is to vote against construction of Apartment Complex by the Builder Worthington Cap LLC (LC Homes). We are against the building of these apartments for several reasons:

  1. LC Homes has not completed several communities in the area where they wish to build for example Worthington and WillowWood.
  2. They have represented themselves poorly in those communities as HOA.
  3. The building of new Apartment Complex will also bring over-crowding and additional traffic to our area of town, which will make putting our homes for sale even harder then it is now. The value of our property will be affected by this change.
  4. Lastly, most people who move to Smyrna do so with the hopes of owning a home and raising their children in a small town, bringing in an Apartment Complex will negatively affect this.

I am also opposed to these apartments. Totally out of character for the area. Besides Capano already has property across from rest area zoned for hundreds of apartments.

I am totally against the apartments. If I knew this was going to happen I would have NOT bought a home in Worthington! LC Homes need to concentrate on finishing the development they started and give us everything they have promised!!

Resident in Hickory Hollow, and I do not want an apartment complex put in on the proposed corner of Brenford Rd. There is far too much traffic on Brenford Road, the community environment would be much better suited if single family homes were put in there, absolutely not apartments. Respectfully, Kristin Gebhardt

Traffic on Brenford road is already over crowded. LC Homes has enough incomplete developments off of Brenford Road. This is a bad project for the neighborhood and for the school system of Smyrna.

We moved here to enjoy retirement and a small hometown feeling. Now we're faced with apartments and traffic situations that are going to be heavy and unbearable on Brenford Road trying to get on Route 13.

I am voting against the proposed apartment complex at Brenford Rd and Rabbit Chase Lane. LC Homes has not finished the construction of the Worthington and Willowwood homes. This will also increase the traffic on Brenford Rd. It will greatly effect the propriety value of the new home in the area. Thank you

I agree with all of the above mentioned I will be moving in in June and currently live in an apartment complex and it is horrible you get a different quality of people than home owners

I am definitely against the building of apartments at the corner of Rabbit Chase Lane and Brenford Rd. Aside from the numerous and justified reasons for opposing the building of these apartments, it is reprehensible that there have been no consequences to Capano. He continues to demonstrate lack of integrity and commitment regarding several current projects, and now is attempting his bait and switch. As a community, we have ask why he's allowed to continue to build anything in Delaware, and challenge the laws that allow someone like Capano to thrive at the expense of the people who live here.
