No outdoor High Power Rifle Range in residential neighborhood – Coventry Rhode Island

We oppose this proposed special permit application for applicant John Psilopoulos and owner, Thomas Miozzi of Green Light Farm, LLC Town Farm Rd. Coventry, RI for an outdoor rifle range.
- Too close to family residential neighborhoods – Home values will plummet, who will want to buy your home when they hear gunshots
- Constant gunshot noise in a peaceful family neighborhood – Imagine trying to relax in your garden during the summer!
- This would be the Third Largest Gun Range in New England – Initially operating 9:30am to dusk, but lighting would allow operation in to the night.
- Transit of high power assault type weapons though our streets – How will our local police force cope with a routine traffic stop?. Will they be out-gunned?. These are military grade weapons and ammunition.
- 1.25 miles to Washington Oak Elementary School – Children at play will hear gunshots. High velocity rounds are still deadly at over a mile.
- Lead contamination in groundwater – All houses in this area are on individual wells.
- Severe impact on wildlife and pets.
- No public notifications received to-date – This gun range will impact a very wide residential area. Not just the abutting properties.
Take action to save your peaceful neighborhood. You will all be affected, make sure your voice is heard.

I just blinked and saw the counter pass five hundred which feels completely surreal. My kitchen table is already covered in maps of the area and I keep thinking about how loud those summer afternoons will be if we do not stop this project. Thank you for paying attention to what is happening right in our own backyards.

The proposal is entirely inconsistent with the Town's zoning regulations and comprehensive plan. I am in the process of preparing a legal opinion to be submitted to the Zoning Board at the hearing on 1/10. This disastrous proposal cannot be allowed to proceed!
Absolutely do not support this! My son's school was on lockdown last year because someone heard gunshots while the kids were outside. Having it so close to Washington Oak is ridiculous. This a busy road with many houses in the area. This is just too much.
I live in Coventry and I oppose this. This was shoved thru the boards with no public information until recently. The residents that abut the property should not be forced to have deal with the ever growing list of issues this facility creates.
This is the last thing that Coventry needs!!! There are too many horses and farms in that area, they will be frightened. We visit horses in Town Farm Rd frequently, and we don’t need the horses to spook while we are riding.
This is too close to my home, I moved to this area just a few years ago primarily to have some more peace and quiet and to enjoy the sounds of nature. Our family, including my two young daughters, are outside nearly every day in spring and summer and do not want this to be established.
Just not right. We don't need noise or risk.

What about the veterans that move out into the country side to avoid suffering from PTSD? Did we totally forget about the impact it will have on minority's such as former army soldiers daily lives? Forcing a former Army seal to move just due to the profits of another, seems ridiculous.
