The City Council formally rejected the permit application for the proposed Motel 6 at their hearing last night. We have reached our objective regarding the moratorium and the zoning review is now official. My focus stays on monitoring the upcoming municipal sessions to ensure these new distance requirements remain strictly …

I am a registered voter in Centennial and I am requesting that the Centennial City Council impose a moratorium on any applications for extended stay economy hotels in order to give the City time to study the impact that hotels of this nature will have on the community and consider new distance requirements for proximity to residential neighborhoods.

I give permission for this petition with my name and email to be forwarded to all city council members and city officials that can influence this decision and will pledge support at the next election for only those officials that agree to support this petition.

The volume of support has reached a level that demands a formal response from city officials. I have initiated contact with council members to schedule a meeting regarding the requested moratorium on extended stay development. I will provide a summary of their positions once these discussions conclude.

Ask the cities of Greenwood Village and Lone Tree about the amount of time and resources their police departments spend at the Extended Stay America locations in their cities. That should be enough justification alone to block this development.

Development of this nature should not be placed in close proximity to residential communities as it has an adverse impact of safety, traffic patterns, property values and the character of nearby communities. I do not support approval of this project

There is a glut of hotel accommodations surrounding the Willow Creek, FoxRidge and Walnut neighborhoods. There is no for a "budget" option. Crime has already increased dramatically since I moved here 40 years ago. No need for a magnet to draw more unsavory opportunists.

Not a good location for a Motel 6. That area along with the area north of Dry Creek Rd. near Dayton & Clinton has plenty of cheaper long term stay motels. The clientele those places draw is not appropriate to be located so close to Willow Creek & Dry Creek Elementary Schools.

I am strongly against the Motel 6 going in. Please stay true to Centennial’s vision of revitalization. We have plenty of empty storefronts that could use new occupants, we don’t need any new building until these are filled.

I will only support, with my money and my vote, those council members who represent the concerns and ideals of our community over the unbridled profit motive of business entities seeking to locate in our community without regard for the damage they may cause to our safety and way of life.

A Motel 6, to me, would not fit in or around this neighborhood. It is family friendly with high-end properties. Thank you for the opportunity to voice our opinion.
