Stop the approval for a home occupation business for retail marijuana cultivation
Wednesday Oct. 28th, the Nederland Planning Commission will review an application for a SRU (special review use) in which a resident on Barker Rd in Bid Springs is seeking zoning change approval from residential to commercial in order to commercially grow marijuana in a residential home. Currently, under Ned Municipal Code (16-32) this could be approved. This is the stage at which you need to voice your opposition - if this is approved it sets a frightening precedent to allow for future applications and worse will negatively impart our neighborhoods/community. Our town is already struggling to provide affordable housing to its residences. This change in zoning would have an even further detrimental impact on housing.
Please sign this petition if you are against changing the zoning of a residential parcel to a commercial parcel for an at home marijuana grow operation. Or sign this petition if you do not want to live beside a commercial marijuana grow operation.

The worst thing the town of Nederland could do. Mixing drug growing into neighborhoods with kids and families. Every house for sale in town could become the next Pot Grow Operation. Property values will decrease and the city of Ned will be responsible.
Please oppose the request for a commercial grow operation in a residential area of our town. This would set a terrible precedent and make our affordable housing issues even worse. Don't let this awful idea move forward.
The TEENS, Inc. Board of Directors officially moved to urge the planning commission to deny this request. The request does not fit with the surrounding use; may not be congruent with the town zoning code; and further promotes the normalization of marijuana - an unhealthy message for the youth in this community.
Please do not approve. We need housing for families and those contributing to our community. Not only do we NOT need any more grow houses, we need more regulations in place with the ones that are already in Nederland.
I disapprove of building a commercial grow operation in the big springs neighborhood on Barker Road in Nederland, CO. I live in this subdivision and we already have a need for housing for human beings to live in. There is currently places that this grow operation could be built in the business district of Nederland. Large scale medical marijuana cultivation in residential neighborhoods should also be prohibited. All of the arguments against retail residential grows are equally applicable to medical grows in our neighborhoods.
I oppose ANY commercial cultivation in Nederland residential zoned neighborhoods. I oppose any further SRUs for commercial projects in Nederland residential neighborhoods.

As a long time Nederland resident trying to raise a family here, I do not want commercial grow operations in residential neighborhoods.
