Forest Lawn Cemetery, (On the 441 in Ocala) wants to Rezone part of their property from R1 (Residential) to B4 (Business) and build an 8,000 square foot Crematorium in our Residential Neighborhood. The proposed Crematorium would be less than 200 yards from our homes and the Toxins, Smoke and Odor would be a Health Hazard to the neighborhood and the Decreased Property Values would affect us all.

Updates

The feedback from neighbors has been overwhelming. Staying focused on the zoning board meeting next.

The momentum is undeniable now. It proves this neighborhood refuses to be ignored.

Children need to play outside without smoke, fumes and odors from a crematorium. As someone who suffers with Asthma, taking my students out to recess will be harmful to my health.

I not only live near this purposed crematorium but my daughter attends elementary school even closer to it! This area is for residential and agricultural NOT industrial!

This belongs in an industrial area not within a half mile of hundreds of homes and small horse farms. This property is literally a half mile from my farm...as a local Realtor I can promise you this will be lowering our property values.

We do not want the cemetery to do this! We live very close in Lemonwood II And have kids that attend Shady Hill Elementary! Move this to an area that doesn’t have schools and homes surrounding!!!

It seems lately that our county commissioners are approving so much development and so many proposed projects which abuse and decimate residential areas and land designated as Farmland Protection areas. This must stop!!! There are many areas already designated as industrial with vacant land. That is where this type of business should be!

Does not belong anywhere near a residential zoned neighborhood. I personally have done maintenance work to exterior doors of a crematorium in Fort Lauderdale. Saying it was a stinking job was a definite understatement. Never anywhere near a residential neighborhood!!!

I am against the rezoning of Forest Lawns Cemetery and the construction of a crematorium
