We are OPPOSED to rezoning 50 acres situated on the North side of Indiana Railroad, West of U.S. Highway 231, 2.3 miles East of Odon Indiana from Agricultural to Industrial use. The purpose of rezoning this land is to locate a timber (wood) Creosote infusion facility in the Northern Daviess County area. Even with safeguards within the creosote infusion process we feel the risk outweigh the benefits of allowing this type of facility to be build and operate in our community. It is our recommendation that Daviess County Commissioners vote NO on this initiative.

I was born and raised in Daviess County. I would like to see it stay free from this type of business, especially after spending several years of my life near a similar plant in Terre Haute, IN
This is not a good idea for this or any other community. They may say they will offer jobs but is it worth the health or environmental risk.
I strongly oppose the proposed rezoning of land from agricultural to industrial use. This is the first step to unwanted manufacturing of creosote treated railroad ties, increased truck and rail traffic, environmental issues, loss of property value and the negative impact list goes on and on. This facility does not belong in populated areas.
We do not need this in our community. Don't let the Odon/Farlen area be turned into Somerville, TX. Read the article TOXIC TOWN: CANCER AND BIRTH DEFECTS IN SOMERVILLE, TX. i don't believe this would benefit the Odon community, and i also feel if this were to change to industrial zoning, the surrounding properties would lose their property value
Indiana is already last on the list for Greenest state. This kind of pollution to our environment is the reason. Stop it!

I am opposed to rezoning the rural area west of Hwy 231 to Industrial use. We live very close and do not want the risk involved with this Creosote facility. Also, our church is very close. We chose this area because it was NOT an industrial area to live and raise our families.
