This petition is set in place for the Slip Holders of Navajo Lake Marina. With the current COVID-19 State Guidelines in place, we have been restricted access to our houseboats to day time only access (8am - 4pm). By signing this petition we are asking for your consideration that slip owners be aloud to have 100% access to our properties and have the right to stay on our boats. During this time we are still having to pay full price for our slips and feel that with this we should have full access. Many of us consider these properties as our second homes and a place for us to escape and isolate during these times, much like a cabin would be. Also by signing this we the slip holders pledge to abide by all State social distancing recommendations and guidelines that remain in place for the duration of the COVID 19 health crisis, if allowed to have 100% access to our houseboats. Thanks for your consideration.

Updates

April 11, 2020

I am currently coordinating with the marina office to demand a clear explanation for why we are paying full fees while being locked out of our own property. Please call the state park office today and demand they recognize our slip agreements as essential access to second homes.

April 11, 2020

The momentum behind our request for full access to our houseboats is growing fast. Post the link to your Facebook page today and email the director of State Parks to demand they review our slip agreements.

There are probably less than 100 “Houseboats” in slips at Navajo lake marina. It would be great if the Governor would allow us to stay overnight I. Our 2nd homes. We pay over $1000 per month to use these spaces and should be allowed to use and access them 24/7

I think guidance can be put in place to ensure everyone socially distances responsibly while also being able to enjoy our Boats. We are slip holders. Slip holders should be allowed 24/7 access to our own properties.

This is the time of the year we do need maintenance for the year. This causes unnecessary time, driving and exposure plus limits the amount of work we’re able to do. Water was shut off prematurely last fall cutting our season short. Where do we apply for our refund? Campers are refunded.

Slip holders pay WAY too much on a monthly basis YEAR ROUND to be restricted from their HOMES in any way. My houseboat is my summer home. I can see placing restrictions on people who don’t pay over a thousand dollars a month to have a house on the lake. But why would we continue to pay that much money for a place we can’t use? We are responsible. We social distance when we’re not at the lake. We can do it at our summer homes just the same.

We plan to stay on our Houseboat all the while we are at the Marina. Naturally we would like to be allowed to spend the night since it truly is our retreat, during this stressful time. I believe stress can have an effect . On our bodies Mentally, spiritually and physically. I believe being able to be around water is like a stress reliever. Thank you

I live in Phoenix and need to stay at our boat when in NM to take care of my rentals in Bloomfield.

We just want to stay on our houseboats on the slips we are paying for, not asking to go out on the lake. Simply just want to stay overnight in our 2nd homes.
