Please sign if you'd like for recreational boat use on Lake Nighthorse near Durango, CO to be allowed as originally planned. This is in response to the petition by the Quiet Lake Nighthorse Coalition to restrict motor boat access to the lake.
The lake is big enough that we can do both - and, there are dozens of other small lakes that are not accessible to motorized boats in LaPlatta county.

Open it up already! There needs to be a compromise such as a reasonable speed limit and reasonable no wake areas for swimmers and bathing activities. What about wind powered craft that easily go in excess of 20 miles an hour such as catamarans, Kiteboarding, windsurfers
The fact that this Lake is still not open nor being used for recreaction purposes is out landish! We have plenty of small water ways and lakes to accomodate non motorized boats. This will bring revenue from the locals and to the tourists. Please open this lake! Thank you❤️
There are plenty of other lakes that don't allow motorized boating. This is the only lake even close to Hesperus area, otherwise we have to drive an hour all directions to get to different lakes. Being able to use this lake for everything including motorized boats would be the best bet, especially for those living close to the lake.
Shoreline vehicle access to these waters will be very limited. Public lands and waters should be multi use. Restrictions based on safety are reasonable however, restrictions based on limiting one group over another is not. There are plenty of non motorized, or motor restricted, lakes within an easy drive of Durango.
If 265 acre Recapture Reservoir in SW Utah can handle full speed ski boats, 1500 acre Lake Nighthorse definitely can!
Please allow us to enjoy the lake with motorized boats. We have so few options here.
This is public land, publicly funded project, Public land should be open to ALL of the public. Abusers should be held accountable, but responsible users should be allowed to use it.

I have been waiting to go up to lake nighthorse and make memories with my friends since 6th grade... I am now a senior in high school and am still hooping they open the lake before I graduate and go off to college
