With no shade on this walk and 100+ degree temperature in the Summer, this would be an awesome addition! Great idea.
What the Dam really needs desperately, is Restrooms on the Dreher Shoals Dam Parking Lot side. There must be thousands of adults who walk the Dam with their children daily, who need to use a restroom on the Dreher Shoals Dam side Parking Lot. And there aren't any on that side of the Dam, they have restrooms over by the Boat launch side only. We need a petition for that also.
Wish this was implimented when i used to live there and run the dam. Definitely would help fatigued people and help when wanting to walk with your child out there!
Sound's great for people needing to cool down to keep from having a heat stroke in the hot months
Gosh me too several times this summer so far! SCE&G and SCDOT both think it's a great idea and have given me the green light to submit the request forms to have it all in writing so we're one step closer to making it happen!

Terrific idea! Solar powered "stations" to be built and maintained by the private company proposing a comfort for locals that run, walk and even snap photos across the dam. I am so glad I spoke with Heather!
