Attention residents of Zanesville and surrounding communities! Zanesville Splashed Ice is Looking for your support!! The Fieldhouse is preparing to apply for an Outdoor Recreation Grant that would begin the process of building an outdoor Splashed Ice Park. This is a multi-purpose, multi-season, outdoor facility.

There would be many benefits this facility would offer our community and highlighting them is an important part of applying for the grant. Here are the most important benefits we would gain by building this park: offering outdoor recreation during months of extreme heat or cold when people would otherwise remain indoors; a fun form of exercise that helps fight child and adult obesity rates which continue to grow in our country; offers social well-being for our community by bringing people together in a fun and healthy environment; outdoor recreation is shown to bring about a state of mental well-being; draws tourists to the area and therefore some economic growth; offers a unique environment for special needs individuals to enjoy outdoor recreation and physical therapy.

In the summer the splash pad functions as a water park that incorporates fountains, water guns, dumping buckets, etc. Splash pads offer a fun, safe, cross-generational form of outdoor recreation for people of all ages and abilities including those with special needs.

In the winter the pad is designed to be converted to a mechanically chilled ice surface for fun, outdoor, winter recreation that includes recreational ice skating, figure skating, hockey, sled hockey, adaptive skating for special needs, and broom ball. The mechanical chillers can keep the ice surface suitably frozen during winter days when the temperatures remain below 45 degrees.

This facility would be open to members of The Fieldhouse and non-members alike. It is an ideal venue for private rental for birthday parties, private holiday parties, or injecting a little fun and exercise into the next business or corporate meeting you host at The Fieldhouse.

Your participation in this petition will help us get Zanesville Splashed Ice built. An important part of applying for the grant and also acquiring local financial support is showing how strongly members of our community feel about having this fun, healthy, outdoor, multi-season recreation available to our families. If you are interested in taking a more active role, beyond signing this petition, in helping get this project off the ground and would like to join our interest group please contact us!

We drive to Newark 3 days a week to skate and we live in zanesville. This would be something fantastic for the community and will be well used. I would love to see this happen!

I work for a general contractor Palmetto Construction Services in Columbus. We was the general contractor on Delaware Ohio spray and play and have just broke ground on the spray ground to be built in Whitehall. Theses facilities are very amazing and the children love them. I think this would be great for the community.

Sounds great! It would be nice to spend the $ and time here in our community rather than Dresden, Heath or driving into Columbus or further!

A wheelchair accessible water park would be amazing in our town. There's absolutely nothing around that my daughter can participate in at this point.

I think this would be a superb way to give our children something constructive to do all your around! My generation had Northside Beach and it would be awesome to see something similar to that available during this time.
