Kids waiting for the school bus, commuters and the many individuals who walk, run and bike along this stretch would all benefit from the additional safety this would provide.

I have been reviewing the survey responses and it is clear that many people feel the same hesitation when walking along Meriden Road. These accounts of near misses and navigation challenges provide the evidence we need to present a formal request to the city planning office. I am currently working to organize this feedback into a format that will be difficult for the local council to overlook.

Seeing this steady growth in support reminds me that many of you share the same desire for safer streets in our neighborhood. This momentum confirms that people value accessible walking paths for their children and fellow residents alike. Moving forward with this collective push feels much more purposeful now.

I am mobility challenged & use a scooter but have to travel to use it because of the steep hills surounding me. I would get out more & go to the green more if there was a sidewalk to use.
I run along here regularly - 2 or 3 times a week. A sidewalk would make it MUCH safer - even on just one side of the street. Even wider shoulders on one side or a bike lane for runners and bikers to share would really help. the most critical part is from the existing sidewalk past the entrance to Golden Park where the shoulder is non-existent.
I love this option! There are many families and children in our neighborhood (Laro St. & Kinney st.). A sidewalk to downtown would help both traffic and pedestrians. I often have to drive over the yellow line to avoid walkers and bicyclists.
An increasing number of walkers, runners, and cyclists all compete with vehicles to use the Meriden Rd. In the 30+ years we’ve lived on LaPlante vehicular traffic has increased exponentially; larger vehicles and increasing speeds are a reality on the road. A sidewalk extension out to Daisy Hill or LaPlante Rd. makes a great deal of sense for the safety of everyone.
Yes , please! Have been running from LaPlante Road into the Green for over 30 years. Traffic and speed have increased noticeably over that period. Sidewalks might encourage more people to travel by foot into town.

We have lived on Grandview for 20 years and have always felt 120 needed a sidewalk. We never let Sydney ride bikes, run, or walk on it growing up.
