Final supporters
Since the announcement of Luis Acosta being passed over for the position of principal at Garden Ridge Elementary, parents and students of the school have been extremely upset and don't understand why he was not chosen. After the many years of service as the assistant principal, we feel that he has more than shown his qualifications, and is the heart of Garden Ridge and its community. We are signing this petition to show our support for Luis Acosta as principal, in the hope that the school district will reconsider placing him as the principal.

I spent the entire morning reading through the stories you all are leaving in the comments and it is just clear that Luis really is the glue holding everything together at Garden Ridge. I have been trying to get a straight answer from the district office about their selection process but they are dodging my calls which is honestly just exhausting.

Mr. Acosta is well qualified for the position of principal in whatever setting he is placed in. In our 6 year history with him as assistant principal, he was attentive to children/parents concerns and encouraged excellence with care and understanding.
He is such an amazing role model for my kids. Thanks to his help and support my son is getting help with his dyslexia and my daughter got into the gifted and talented program. There is no better choice for principal.
Mr.Acosta is well qualified for this position , and no one else qualify better than him ! He is great teacher great Leader, smart knows all the students by name in that school, give me a break why LISD need to bring some one from outside has no clue about the school nor the staff ??
Mr. Acotsa is an asset to Garden Ridge Elementary. My kindergarten son RAVES about him. He has gone out of his way to make new parents and students feel at home. Please reconsider as Mr. Acotsa IS the right Principal for GRE!
Mr. Acosta is a great educator, dedicated to Garden Ridge and its students. He makes students and parents feel welcome by greeting them at the door in the morning and listening to their concerns and problems. He is the perfect choice for the principal position at Garden Ridge.

I join with our Gator community in supporting Mr. Acosta as the next principal for GRE. The decision to pass him over was made by people that aren't in the school everyday, as I am. Continuity where performance has been exceptional is warranted.
Mr. Acosta is well qualified for the position of principal in whatever setting he is placed in. In our 6 year history with him as assistant principal, he was attentive to children/parents concerns and encouraged excellence with care and understanding.
