The Traffic Commissioner finally gave in and opened the routes we demanded to fix this gridlock. We broke their stubborn silence through sheer persistence and now the traffic flow is actually moving. Watch them closely because we will not let them drag their feet on this again.

Dear Mr Amitesh Kumar,
Sub- Request to take actions for reducing traffic issues in Lower Parel & Mahalakshmi area
We are residents of Lodha Bellissimo, Ashok towers, Viveria, Planet Godrej, Ashok Gardens , Primero, many other buildings and also office goers in the Lower parel area. We are badly affected by the Lower Parel bridge closure. Travel time from a location in lower parel to another in lower parel itself has increased 4 times from 15min to 1 hour. Taxi/ uber drivers don’t want to come to this area anymore. The lower parel bridge will take a long time to fix, it’s becoming very difficult for us to manage with the current situation of traffic & we are very worried of the situation during Ganpati hence we request you to consider the following steps
1. Please open the right turn from Mahalakshmi station to saat rasta, currently this traffic also gets added to the famous studio road traffic which already has all the lower parel traffic including traffic which is not able to use lower parel bridge & has to go via mahalakshmi
2. Saat rasta is now the only option to go any place in lower parel (which now has many offices), worli, tardeo etc and hence faces immense traffic. To ease this traffic another option is to take the Minerva back road but that road has many hawkers, vehicles parked & also trucks plying which sometimes stop to offload goods and create huge traffic jams, if we could clear these roads and ban parking they would become good alternatives to use to get to saat rasta, hence ease traffic
3. Arthur jail road and road opposite phoenix should not be allowed any vehicle parking except jail vehicles (also to be kept minimum)
4. If we could stop all construction vehicles from this area during peak hours
5. Garbage trucks should pick up garbage in non-peak hours
6. Active traffic management during Ganpati
We earnestly request your intervention in this matter, the sudden closure of lower parel bridge has made our life miserable.

As a resident of this area, we are facing terrible traffic problems and I'm times tempted to walk, which would be faster. However, walking is also impossible due to hawkers on pavements and cars and taxis parked and double parked on already clogged streets.
Request if an alternate crossover bridge to Dr E Moses Road from Delisle Road - crossing the Railway tracks from next to Minerva is also evaluated. A single option from Saat Raasta and Mahalaxmi station will always we a bottleneck considering the development/ growth in the area.
Given the metro works causing so much congestion, it would work hugely in everyone’s favour to open up the right turn at Mahalaxmi station. Currently it adds no less than 30-45 mins to go ahead take a turn at Phoenix mills signal and come back to Mahalaxmi station.
I totally agree. Travel from our residence at Saat Raasta to anywhere close by has become a complete nightmare. I have taken 35 mins to reach my residence at Planet Godrej from Vivarea the walking distance is barely 5/6 mins. Request you to kindly look into this matter on priority .
The traffic at phoenix mall Upto saatrasta had become hell. Kids are also greeting harassed as they take 45 min to 1 hour for a 15 min distance from their school. Pl take urgent action to ease traffic. At this time, pl stop all ganpati movement in this area
When is the bridge expected to be complete..is expedited work happening?
I take more than 1 hour to reach home everyday even though I stay just 10minutes away. Please find a quick and permanent solution to the lower parel traffic problems one cannot take this anymore.

Indisciplined parking of cars tempos and taxis on either side of NM JOSHI MARG AND ALSO THUR JAIL ROAD hve made commuting a nightmare. Also the BMC garbage trucks and the tourist busses hve made entry and exit from Lodha Bellissmo a huge challenge.
