To,

Dy R.T.O,

Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

Dear Sir,

We the parents of children studying in St. Mary's ICSE School Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai would like to bring your attention towards the traffic and parking problem faced by us. Every morning dropping our kids to school has become a herculean task because of the tempos and loading vehicles parked on both sides of approach road. Approach road to school on either side is choke-a-block with parked vehicles which leaves a very narrow strip to move. School buses, school vans, individual cars and two wheeler moving about in this chaos add to the woes. Many a time to avoid the traffic, two wheeler riders moves on the foot-paths too. Small kids (Pre-primary to 12th Std.) have to cross this road and go to school.

Altercations and minor skirmishes are daily affairs. Rainy season worsens already bad situation. The situation is so chaotic that any time an accident can happen, which will be really unfortunate.

According to school administration they have already approached RTO and traffic police on various occasions and are still waiting for a favorable action.

The probable solutions can be stage-wise:

1. Removal of all illegally parked tempos and vehicles on approach road and make it a no parking zone.

2. Orderly traffic regulation, with the help of a couple of traffic policemen.

3. Regulate entry timings of large vehicles like trucks, tempos, garbage vans etc.

4. Make the approach road one way for traffic.

We, through this petition, would like to appeal to your good office and expect timely action.

Thanks and Regards.

Parents of students' of St. Mary's ICSE School, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai.

To avoid the traffic at the school gate, I park my car behind Balaji theatre, and come walking with my kid. I'm already doing my part. Please support this initiative.

An alternate solution would be to ensure that the school buses and vans to inside the compound of the school. With such a big ground some infrastructure can be manged which would benefit everybody including the school.

The problem is acute and some kids are invariably late and I witnessed students crying as they missed their tests. Such stress is not healthy for young minds

This is real trouble for kids and parents. The traffic jam leads to delay in schools and offices as same road leads to Koperkhairne station. At the same time even garbage trucks also start ply on this road which add to more problem. Request local administration to help.

The lane is having 4 schools, 2 hospitals, 1 hypermarket. People passing in that lane face a menace of traffic everytime during school dispersal. There are a lot of tempos and trucks parked on that road. Atleast those should not be allowed

It's high time that illegally parked tempos and trucks are removed from around the school's vicinity...they not only create traffic problems but are also a security threat.
