Are you concerned by the volume of traffic rat running through West Toowong (particularly Kapunda, Exmouth, Bywong, Orchard, Soudan and Lodge Streets)? Our local streets are winding and hilly, and not suited to large numbers of cars (particularly large vehicles). This area now has significant non-local traffic passing through, creating noise and safety concerns for local residents.

A Local Area Traffic Management Plan can help reduce traffic volume by implementing traffic calming strategies. In order to develop and implement a Local Area Traffic Management Plan, Brisbane City Council requires the support of the majority of local residents.

The undersigned respectfully request Brisbane City Council to investigate a Local Area Traffic Management Plan for West Toowong.

Reaching this level of support has been a long road and I admit my energy has been running thin lately. Seeing this many people acknowledge the danger on our local streets proves that we are finally being seen by the powers that be.

BCC are obliged to investigate an action plan to calm traffic in and around West Toowong. The volume and excessive speed of 'transient' traffic escaping Moggill Rd is signifcant in peak times Mon to Fri, and poses a substantial OH&S risk to local residents and their families.

We are on Lodge St and have noticed a large increase in the number of traffic over the past 5 years. The speed is dangerous and I'm often concerned getting in and out of my car on the Street as there is rarely a break in traffic. Its disapointing to be living in what should be a calm area being constently surrounded by traffic noise.

As a resident in Kapunda, I see many vehicles cutting through via Kapunda st travelling too fast amd with little regard for the neighbourhood. I would like to see traffic calming along Kapunda to discourage the "rat Runners"and to make it safer for the growing number of children that live in this street

There is a growing 'rat-run' along Soudan

Something needs to be done to the 'rat run' that has developed through Soudan Street

In order to use Kapunda vehicles use Broseley Rd. This road is a wide road so drivers are inclined to exceed the speed limit. There would be less cars using Broseley Rd as a race track if Local Area Traffic Management plan is implemented in Kapunda

I am a resident of West Toowong, and support the proposal for BCC to implement a local area traffic management plan for this area.

I would support any strategies to manage the increased traffic experienced during morning and afternoon rush hours.
