The Brookline Parks and Recreation department is currently overseeing a redesign of Pierce Park, and has a million dollar budget to work with. Sign this petition to support having lighting on the Pierce Park basketball court be included in the redesign plan, to create a safe, warm-months, nighttime, place for Brookline youth to enjoy.

Seeing this many neighbors rally for better lighting at the court makes me think of all those late evenings my brother spent playing in the dark. This momentum proves that our community cares about keeping the park a safe space for our kids to play after sunset.

Seeing one hundred people rally behind this project means the world to me because I grew up playing at that court in the dark. It is clear that I am not the only one who wants our neighbors to have a safe space to play after sunset.

My son and his friends should not have to stop playing just because the sun goes down. We are nearly at one hundred signatures and hitting that mark will prove the city needs to take our request seriously.

There is a significant lack of lighted places for our teens to hang out safely in Brookline. Lighted sports fields are especially important for the over 12-under 16 group, who are too old for some programs, and too young for others.

College athlete and student and I think putting like I'm the court would be a great thing kids need practice and build effort for bettering themselves and the community putting lights wouldn't dim a kids future it would only make it brighter

On behalf of the Spa we would love for our young customers to be able to enjoy their nights safely at Pierce Park!

How can we tell teens to be safe on summer nights without providing a well-lit park? More safe options in the light means fewer poor decisions in the dark. Seems like a no brainer to me.

I personally think this is worth doing at more parks in Brookline. The lights do not need to be on for all hours of the night. Just a little while longer than sun down. This would be great for the youth and those who love the game of basketball. Plus wouldn't this make it easy to actually see what's going on in there ?!

do it!!! Lotta kids play there, don't want them going into Boston area to do it. Rather have them stay in our town.
