Help Us Legalize the Use and Sale of Fireworks in Nassau County, NY

Last fall the New York State legislature gave counties the ability to legalize the sales of certain consumer fireworks, like ground based fountains and sparklers. Now the NassauCounty Legislature is currently debating a proposal to allow residents the right to sell and use sparklers, fountains and other novelties around the Fourth of July. This common sense local law will let our residents enjoy the freedoms that Americans in 46 other states enjoy in celebrating our Nation's independence.

Sparklers and fountains are very safe. I don't see any reason for them to NOT be legal as long as they are only available for adults.
