Seeing the count climb toward one thousand has completely floored me because I never imagined this many people cared about our school. Please help keep this momentum going so we can show those in charge exactly how much our community loves this place.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to help protect our school. If we can reach one hundred signatures today it will be impossible for the administration to ignore the strength of this community.

Think about the two soldiers that has passed fighting the war.Picture is in the office.Dustin Parrish and Richard Gilmore lll and pass legends that played sports at Walker.You are killing the tradition of being a Walker Viking.
Really??!! A century-old tradition, with some 50 percent of its graduates still living, and with no public input??!! Really??!!! Somebody is wasting his/her time in Walker County, AL and should be in Washington, D.C.. instead.
I am a proud graduate from Walker High's Class of 2005. Don't change the name of the school. From my history as a teacher, changing the school name will disassociate it from the years of tradition and excellence that Walker is known for all across the state.
Years of memories and tradition for the county, and city. Students from all over come there not just the city. Why do it anyway? When I went it was Walker "County" high school. County was taken out because it was no longer a county school. Problem solved. Please leave it alone.
My dad is a WHS alumni, I am a WHS alumni. And I have two children that I intended to also be WHS alumni... I'm very disappointed that the citizens of this town were not given a say-so in this or even their opinions acknowledged.
Graduated May 1961. School name should remain Walker High School.

As a member of the last class to have attended school in the "Old Building", I do NOT agree with changing Walker High Schools name! Leave it AS IS so when we talk about our high school, our kids will STILL know it as good ole "Walker High"!
