The City of Windsor in Ontario tried an expensive and unpopular skunk cull and concluded it pretty much had no effect.

There is no valid reason to kill skunks. Skunks are beneficial to communities as they keep rodent populations under control. Killing adults will inevitably lead to orphaned young which will die with no parents to feed and protect them. Please do not implement this inhumane practice.

There are too many misconceptions about skunks. The public needs to be educated (seems the City, news and F&W do as well).EDUCATE the people DO NOT trap and kill INNOCENT skunks.

we do not have the right to inflict upon skunks an infantile abhorrence of them, on the basis of fear and ignorance. skunks have the right to live here just as other wildlife; their contributions to a healthy environment are well known.

we have lived with a skunk under our front step for a year now. we have dogs, and no problems, windchines the door hits as we open the front door to let it know we are out and about, added benefit no wasp nest there for the first time in years

We can live in harmony with skunks with a little effort. I'd rather see the city spend tax dollars on alternative co existing strategies.

Leave the skunks alone. Everything from the beautiful eagle to the skunk is part of nature. Some are prey animals and some are predators. The skunk is both. If you kill off too many skunks, it will affect many other animals. The predators that prey on them, will suffer from loss of food. And the mice, that skunks prey on, will increase greatly in numbers. I'm thinking that the same people that want the skunks killed will be the ones that complain the most when unwanted mice start getting into their homes. Humans are too quick to cull animals with disastrous results. Leave them alone.
