We, the students of Highland Hall, are in support of saying the land acknowledgment at the beginning of Main Lesson every day. We will remind each other to say it, and by doing so, pay respect to the natives whose land we occupy.
“We acknowledge that this land was seized from the Sesevitam people (citizens of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians) through unjust means. We recognize that the Sesevitam are still here, and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.”
really proud of everyone for pushing this forward. history matters and we need to face the truth about where we live.
