Dear BU students, Ken Millard is being forced to retire against his will, those of you who have been in the workshop and been helped by him know what a huge contribution he makes. If you feel that he should not be made to retire sign this petition. We have also worded a petition to sign with the below to be handed to the DEC board. To whom it may concern, we as DEC students have been informed that the workshop technician Ken Millard will soon be forced into retirement. We feel that his retirement will have a hugely detrimental effect on the student experience offered by BU to DEC students. His technical knowledge, communication skills and pro active approach have benefited hundreds of students over the years. We the undersigned would be extremely disappointed if this motion were to go ahead and strongly urge the academic board to reconsider this action. signed

Seeing this take off like this is honestly just wild and I keep scrolling through the comments because I really did not think people felt this strongly but it turns out I was wrong which is great. It makes me realize that everyone else sees the value Ken brings to the workshop just as clearly as I do and the energy here is definitely shifting toward something serious.

Total mistake by the uni. He still has so much to offer us.

This is ridiculous. He knows more than the actual professors half the time. Keep him on!!

Ken helped me fix my final project last year when nothing else worked. The workshop wont be the same without him.

So upset about this. He is genuinely such a kind guy and always goes the extra mile. Let him stay.

Ken is the heart of the workshop. Honestly don't know what I would have done without his advice.

The man is a legend. Why get rid of someone who actually helps us learn?
