We, the undersigned, ask that the decision to end David "Ellis" Barnsley's contract is reconsidered. The contribution that he has made to the lives of students - of both faith and non-faith alike - within the University of Wolverhampton cannot be overstated. The undersigned represent the diverse population of the University - something which David not only clearly understands but also respects. He has made the chaplaincy a welcoming place for all who frequent it, and his interaction with students has also made him a very popular figure amongst the student body. We implore you reconsider this decision, which would be to the detriment of both the chaplaincy and the University as a whole.

I have been hearing so many stories from students about how David helped them through their darkest days on campus. The administration is still refusing to meet with us but your support proves just how vital he is to our community.

Seeing this level of support for Ellis feels surreal given how much his guidance has meant to me personally during my time here. It is clear that I am not the only one who believes the university is losing a vital pillar of our community.

Ellis is the only reason I felt comfortable at uni during my first year. He helped me through so much stress. Dont let him go!!
Ridiculous decision. He has been great for the uni community.
He always had time for a chat when I was struggling with deadlines. The chaplaincy wont be the same without him.
THIS IS SO UNFAIR. Ellis is a legend and has done so much for everyone here. Keep him on staff!!!
Bring him back. He understands what students actually need.

Solid guy. Always welcomed me in for coffee and a talk, even when I wasnt religious. Bad move by the uni.
