For 50 years our Library was called the “Venice Public Library” and now they want to change the name to the Sarasota County Public Library. The Venice Public Library is In the Venice Cultural Campus and should not have it’s name changed. Please join us and support the effort to ‘Keep The Name The Same’ by signing this petition.

I honestly never thought so many people felt this strongly about keeping our local library name exactly as it has always been. It is honestly kind of surreal seeing all these messages pouring in because it proves that this place means so much more than just a building to everyone in town.

All the other libraries in the system are named after their location, why should Venice library be different?
Please keep the new Venice Library as the Venice Public Library for consistency and because every other building the the Cultural Campus is called the Venice _ _ _, so why not follow the same logic. If you wish to add below 'of Sarasota County', I would have no objection. But, please, it's Venice Public Library first and foremost, of Sarasota County second. Janine
I wouldn't recognize the Library by any other name but VENICE!!!!!!

It is OUR. Library, it belongs to Venice. Unfortunately the County will disregard its maintenance again. What a waste, what incompence.

This library is on Venice Island - why would you want to change that SARASOTA COUNTY? You make no sense!!!!
