Southern Union backed down and will keep the leadership at Wadley where it belongs. We forced them to respect our history and prove they cannot just discard our community for cheap corporate maneuvering. Stay alert because we will be watching their next move to ensure they honor this commitment.
Having been the main campus for nearly a century, over which time successful growth and financial stability has come to all 3 campuses including Opelika and Valley, we the undersigned do respectfully request that any attempt to move the proven leadership from the Wadley community cease and desist.
Southern Union leadership is waiting for us to lose steam so they can strip Wadley of its status. We are hitting the triple digits soon and I need every single one of you to blast this link out to your networks right now to prove they cannot ignore us.

I definitely want to see the main campus of Southern Union stay in Wadley. I graduated from there in 2010 & it felt like a home away from home. Moving the main campus from Wadley to Opelika is not a good thing for my home county (Randolph County) at all.

I worked in the SUSCC bookstore for almost 8 years & the Wadley campus always made me feel like family. If you even thought of making another campus the main campus you are crazy. The Wadley campus is the first & family campus. You would be doing injustice for SUSCC college. I may not be there now but I feel like family still.

Wadley needs the income from this campus. We don’t make a lot of money in this part of the county and we can’t afford the gas to go Barack and forth to Opelika.

Wadley os the heart and soul of Southern Union. Athletics, drams, chorus, all activities are there. Having been a student at both the Wadley and Opelika campuses, I strongly urge you to retain Wadley as the main campus.

The only things that will come from this is a community will lose many jobs and it will be economically detrimental. The pros definitely to not outweigh the cons in this matter. Keep Southern Union in Wadley!

The Wadley Campus is a necessity for our community. If relocated, a secondary education will be an unattainably dream for many current and future students and residents in Randolph and surrounding Counties. SUSJC was my bridge to further my education.

I graduated from this campus; probably wouldn’t have gone at all had I had to drive to Opelika daily.
