The City of Roswell has officially approved the construction of sidewalks on Thompson Place. We have secured a commitment for the project to begin prior to the Vicker Village completion. I will monitor the site preparation phase to ensure these requirements are met.

Thompson Place is a residential street that connects to Historic Downtown Roswell (Canton Street) from N. Coleman Road. Despite the lack of sidewalks, the road is frequented by hundreds of children, families, and pets walking from their homes to enjoy the many shops, restaurants and activities.
Thompson Place is already overly crowded and cars drive way too fast. Residents have tried posting signs, flashers, 'kid playing' signs, and begging the city for help with no long term solution found.
Before the construction of Vicker Village is complete (adding 69+ condos and hundreds of cars to Thompson) we are asking the City of Roswell to build a sidewalk on Thompson Place.

I have collected the feedback regarding traffic speeds and submitted a formal request for a formal pedestrian safety audit to the city planning office. We are waiting for a response from the traffic engineer to discuss how the upcoming Vicker Village construction impacts current pedestrian routes.

The growth of this petition has captured the attention of the City Planning Department. I have secured a meeting with the local planning coordinator to present our formal request for sidewalk infrastructure on Thompson Place. Documents detailing the traffic flow concerns related to the Vicker Village project are currently being prepared for that discussion.

My dog walks are always a challenge with the traffic speeding by. A sidewalk will be a much needed addition to Thompson Place!
I live in Land O Lakes and my family enjoys the walk from our neighborhood to Canton Street. Please consider making a sidewalk along Thompson Place a priority as I feel it is only a matter of time before a pedestrian is hit along this popular road
I think traffic "taming" devices such as chicanes should be tried on Thompson too. When I lived off of Thompson Place, I made it a point to walk along it as little as possible, taking other, longer routes to avoid the traffic.
Agree. Thompson Place is the main artery onto Canton Street. Lots of families walk up Thompson for Alive After Five. As it is now with parking on both sides it is VERY DANGEROUS. Sidewalks would help.
Sidewalks will make the street safer & friendlier for strollers and neighbors. People are spending big bucks on homes on this street and deserve this support from local government . How about more street lighting, too?
