I would love to see the bridge open again, but the question is who's going to pay for it, BFMA and the Borough need to come to an agreement on the liabilty of the damage and you also need to evaluate the cost to repair.
We need to be able to have a walking route to New Brighton for emergencies, people who don't have a car in Fallston and walk to work in New Brighton and Beaver Falls or kids who miss the bus and need to get to school quickly. Walking down Junction Stretch and Route 65 are very dangerous with cars driving fast!
Please keep the bridge open. I grew up on beaver street and used the bridge to walk to New Brighton frequently. It is just not safe to walk on 51 OR 65. Please keep the bridge open, if not for vehicles, then make it a walking / biking bridge so that it can still be utilized by those who really need it. Thank you.
I drove the Fallston Bridge every saturday of my high school career toget to work. It is a peice of New Brighton tradition and crucial to Backdoor Tavern's business!
Without the Fallston Bridge open there is NO SAFE pedestrian route for our school students to get to and from the school district Fallston is affiliated with. School age children walk home after school activities, there is no sidewalk access along Routes 51 or 65 to get to The Veteran's Bridge; even if there were the mileage is excessive.

You just spent thousands of dollars repairing the bridge a few years ago only to say that 'it's rotting away'. Our tax dollars should be spent more wisely.
