Once again there is talk of replacing the Ferry Services at Englishtown and Little Narrows with bridges. These Ferry services are a vital part of the local tourism industry, providing a human connection and personal touch that we as Cape Bretoners are so well known for. They are a part of our landscape and our history. Not to mention they provide much needed jobs in an economically depressed area. The purpose of this petition is to bring to the attention of our government officials that there are many of us NOT in favour of spending $50 million dollars to build bridges! This petition will be forwarded to Geoff MacLellan and Pam Eyking to let them know that. Keep the jobs, keep the landscape- Keep the Ferrys!!
As a tourist to the area, I would want to have the joy of using the ferry. Please don't create a hardship for your local employees and destroy a part of your wonderful heritage.
