The signatories of this petition request that Aberdeenshire Council restore Park Bridge and re-open it to traffic with a minimum of a 3 tonne weight limit.
We also request that:

- The structural analysis of the state of the bridge and its components is shared with us.
- The issue of drainage of the deck is addressed as a priority to prevent further deterioration.
- The build-up of the estimated cost for the restoration of the bridge is provided with evidence supporting the numbers being quoted.
- The timeline for restoration with key milestones is communicated.

As we live on the south Deeside Road, it is a pivotal link to gain access to the North Deeside Road for onward travel without incurring backward miles. We also miss out on the activities in Drumoak and Peterculter as the extra miles make it too far
This bridge should be reopened to light transport to restore local communication links and reduce greenhouse gasses by shortening local travel distances where no public transport exists.
I grew up in Durris and know how vital this bridge is to the local community and for tourism. It's closer is causing major disruption to businesses and residents and is also affecting tourism e.g. fishing on the dee. 46 Mineralwell view, AB393LA
As a GP having to sometimes get from Echt and Garlogie across to Durris, the Park Bridge has helped me on many occasions in the past to reduce journey time and make visiting of patients at distance much more efficient. It is unfortunate it has been closed and would be useful to reopen.
The loss of Park Bridge to light vehicle access has divided the community of Drumoak-Durris in half and also put Drumoak increasingly isolated from our ward councillors and local police in Stonehaven and Lower Deeside as this was the only bridge connecting us without our ward area.
Very sad loss of a bridge which cuts travel times by avoiding round trips, not to mention historical significance with poor maintenance practice

Drumoak and Durris residents consider themselves as being part of only ONE community, and have formed many clubs, organisations, friendships, etc on this basis. Park Bridge is the link that made this possible and simply MUST be saved.
