Keep the Beach House in Port of Ness Open
The Beach House restaurant in Port of Ness in the Isle of Lewis has become extremely popular and well known for its delicious food and warmth of the welcoming hosts Hamish & Norma Robb. There are many glowing artciles on Tripadvisor, so much so that it stands at number 2 in teh rankings for the whole of the Isle of Lewis; now considering the excellent competition, this There are some factors that are bringing the business to a situation where it is no longer sustainable, not least the unsustainable rental amount (currently £10,000pa). This e-petition is seeking to guage the level of interest and support there is for the Beach House, so that our friends from the Port of Ness Harbour Committee can see just how popular the restaurant is and hopefully lower the rental a more sustainable levl of £3,000pa. A good showing on this petition could also result in giveing the Harbour Committee some confidence to diversify into other revenue schemes. Unless an agreement can be reached before the 31st of dec then the Beach House will close - this would be a devastaing blow, not just for Hamish & Norman, but also the community of Ness and all restaurant patrons. If the rent can be lowered to that sustainable level then everyone wins........please show your support and help avoid the closure of an excellent business that pulls people into Ness.
