The Farmhouse Cafe at Ebury Bridge Road opened on the 1st of August 2022.
We, Athina and Peter, opened the cafe with a passion to create a welcoming and comfortable place for the local community. We deliver daily homemade good quality food at affordable prices, and endeavour to create an atmosphere where people feel at home.
We met four years ago on outreach to help the homeless that slept rough outside of Westminster Cathedral. We both have long years of experience working with charities and individuals, including business start-ups, benefit support, and advice providing safe accommodation.
Peter previously was a drug addict and homeless. Since 2009 he changed his life around completely, with help of the community. His heart is to help others in any possible way to turn their lives around.
We were very excited to take on board the cafe because our lease stated that we will be providing services to this Westminster community.
Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago we received a Termination Notice to leave the café by the 15th of February from Meanwhile Space. Meanwhile, space is the management agent of Westminster Council for this Ebury Edge site.
The notice was given to prior communication or any clear explanation. This is of course close to devasting for us as we have invested significant time, energy and resource to build the cafe to serve you. We had planned and budgeted to continue to do so.

I am honestly stunned by how many of you have stepped up to help us protect this space. We are nearing the five hundred mark and having that many people behind us changes everything when we present our case to the council.

I am honestly stunned to see how many people have signed to protect this space. We are almost at one hundred names which feels like a miracle given how small we started. Please keep talking about the cafe because your belief in us is the only thing keeping this dream alive.

Absolutely devastated to find out the farmhouse cafe is being closed. Have been here several times with my friends and family and have always had amazing service. Athina and Peter are wonderful and always are very welcoming and accommodating!
This is such a wonderful community cafe and it would be a shame for the council / greedy developers to close it down without taking into account the lives of hard working people whom they’ll be putting out.
Surely to encourage a much needed community spirit in the local area, the council should be supporting and promoting community minded ventures such as The Farmhouse Cafe, not threatening the owners with heavy-handed termination notices? Peace.
These people help the Pimlico reserdents and even go out to people who cannot get out because they are ill or disabled and have helped for many years and at the moment people need all the help they can get.
I feel very sorry to see how this woman has been treated by this so called meanwhile space she has spent over £30/40000 in setting her communities cafe please sing and share
Sad to see Farmhouse cafe has closed particularly after reading Athina and Peter's motivations behind the cafe. They were very welcoming to us and the food was excellent.

This cares so much for the well being of so many. Run by someone who was also destitute as a drug addiction but completely free now to help others. Communities need these initiatives.
