“The Bourtree” is a well liked family friendly pub where the whole family can go and eat at reasonable prices. Also many locals and groups use this establishment to meet and socialise.
If Wetherspoons were to sell/close “The Bourtree”, then a lot of families will lose out on being able to dine out cheaply and the people of Hawick would of lost a community hub.

Best pub in borders a facility to be proud of. Friendly spacious and well supported by all generations.
Love this Wetherspoons, beautiful building. Been in s few in the North East and they are not as nicely set out. Always found staff pleasant but busy. Value for money grub for families and older folk. Use this on a regular basis and bring friends and family with us too. Do not close, there is nowhere else that fills this market and price range in the local area
This is one of the best Wetherspoons going! The people need to appreciate this place and start using it rather than giving negative comments about the people working there. The people in the pub do there very best, yes it’s not perfect but for how cheap it is can we expect 5 star service?? I think not!
Lovely family friendly pub in a excellent old building that would just go to ruin if closed. Always busy but needs properly organised and managed as quality of the establishment has been allowed to slide for a while now. Asset to the town if kept open.
It would be a huge miss for Hawick...the town is struggling as it is, take this away and ut makes things worse.
My cousin regularly goes into your place,
Saturday nights start there for me - it would be a shame to see it close.

The Bourtree is one of very few investments made in Hawick in recent times when the town has been so obviously marginalised by the bias towards the development of Galashiels and Central Borders. It is an attractive, accessible, affordable and popular venue that draws custom from locals and visitors to the town.
