The old confluence building/ Perception Kayaks located at 182 Powdersville Rd Easley SC is being repurposed into a tire recycling facility. Part of that process is going to be the shredding and burning of waste tires. Right now the application is at Pickens County Planning Commission Office.
This will have a dramatic effect on the surrounding neighborhoods in the following ways.
Increased industrial and commercial truck traffic on powdersville rd and the surrounding streets which currently struggle to contain just residential traffic.
Environmental and economic impact of having a heavy industrial process in the middle of numerous neighborhoods. The process of burning tires will likely involve chemical releases, odors, increased noise and pollution from heavy trucks.
Show your support for our beautiful neighborhoods by saying NO TO THIS COMPANY. There are numerous alternatives outside of residential areas and away from our homes and schools. Sign this petition today!
Go one step further and please attend the County Council planning meeting on October 10th at 630 pm. The address is 222 McDaniel rd ste B-10 Pickens SC in the County councnil chambers room.

I am a Realtor and this facility is a very bad idea for this heavily populated area. It will not only produce harmful chemicals and cause health problems, it will also hurt home values in the area. Not a good idea for Pickens County at all.
Please do not let this company locate here. This company will impact the residential neighborhoods, St. Michael's Church, Robinson's Funeral Home and the surrounding businesses in a very negative way.
I live behind this facility. I can't imagine having drought like weather like we have been and then to add the smell of burning rubber on top if it depleting our air quality even more. This is a residential area where families LIVE, BREATHE, our kids play outside. DO NOT put this here!!!!
Please rethink this business moving into this area due to the homes and we barely can deal with the overflow of traffic on Powdersville road now. not to mention the chemicals being dispensed out in the air.
As a parent whose child suffers from asthma and other pulmonary issues, I am terribly concerned that this is a possible option for the space. The rubber burning process would not only greatly endanger my child's health and well-being but all who are in the path of the emissions as well.
Not gonna happen in Easley!!!
I say no to this company. This location is not an industrial area. So therefore the taxes are substantial lower in residential areas.

This facility should be located in an industrial area, not in a residential area. Powdersville Road is busy enough now without the additional traffic this facility would bring. Count me a a strong NO!
