North Arlington School District is struck with a piece the music department being taken away. Mrs. Emily Corcoran-Kastner is a full time teacher both in North Arlington High School and Middle School. At the high school she is a successful choral director who puts in countless hours for her students and every year has been growing the choral group both in amount of student members and talent. At the middle school she is the band director and also a huge mentor and leader in the band students' lives. She stays and works with students to the best of her abilty and brings out every piece of talent a student has to offer. Now we (the North Arlington School District Music Students) are struck with news that she will be moved out of the middle school and high school and placed in the elementary school. This will result in the high school chorus to be pulled out completely. Please with your help we have a chance of saving the music program !

-Thank you

As a parent, I know how loved and valued she is among her students and parents. Her program offers a safe place of acceptance for many. Artists and mucicians need to also be represented and supported within the school not just athletes.

As a mother of three I have watched my children thrive loving the music program for having a teacher that is loving and dedicated for putting 110% of effort and hard work! I hope that she keeps teaching in the Middle School and High Shcool!

As I watched my daughter play for the last time with the band in college. I couldn't help but take a second a count my blessings that someone as wonderful as mrs kastner gave my daughter the gift of music. Forever grateful. The Granell family.

Our high school children need chorus and Mrs Kastner. It isn't fair to take this away from them. Some children truly love music and to sing. Not every child is an athlete and with this ridiculous decision, sports is their only option. Unfair.

This teacher has increased the size of her choir by an incredible factor. Almost a third of of the school is in one of her programs or marching band - and she works in two schools doing multiple jobs. Who makes these decisions?

Getting rid of Mrs. Kastner would be getting rid of part of the music department. Even though I graduated three years ago, I still live by things I was taught by both of my music teachers in high school, and Mrs. Kastner was one of them. Keep Mrs. Kastner!

Does anybody know the factors that drove this decision that will have such a huge impact on our childrens lives. She has done all good things. I know my daughter is very upset by this. Why go and disrupt such a great program. We stand behind CORKY!

This program and it's teachers are a huge part of personal development to our children. Music is a form of expression! So many wonderful children, whom I know and love personally, thrive on this expression. They would be crushed without it. Please keep Mrs. Kastner aka "Corky"
