We, the united greater High Point Regional High School community, wish to keep Ms. Erin Grieder here as a part of the Performing Arts Department. We strongly believe in the importance of all students having the oppotunity to learn the fundamentals of music in Piano Lab each and every year, and wish for our students to recieve nothing less than the best education possible in Band.
Furthermore, we feel that Ms. Grieder is an essential part of the Peforming Arts Department, the High Point Concert Band, Marching Band, and especially to all woodwind players at High Point for her expertise in individualizing education during band lessons. She has also created small woodwind ensembes, which have aided greatly to the Band department being able to perform outside of the school, purely out of her passion for her music and her students. Lastly, it would be unjust to dismiss her from a great job after merely a year of teaching at High Point.

The emails I receive from students about how much the Piano Lab means to them are heartbreaking to read. I have been spending my nights preparing files for the administration to prove why this decision needs to be reversed. This fight is taking a toll but I am not walking away from our music program.

The momentum behind this effort has become impossible to ignore even when the days feel long and the process feels slow. Seeing how many people value Ms. Grieder and the Piano Lab keeps me going through the exhaustion.

Ms. Grieder is the best teacher ever. please keep her.
Piano lab was the best part of my day. Dont take that away from the kids.
Ms. Grieder made such a difference for my son. He actually enjoys practicing his clarinet now because of her. You cant just let her go after one year.
I dont know what the administration is thinking. Shes an amazing teacher and the band has never sounded better.
Ridiculous that they would even consider letting her go. She built up those ensembles from nothing. Bring her back!
