KARACHI – Guard of SSP Fida Hussain shot dead a dog who was out on a walk with its 70-year-old owner because the animal barked at the police official’s peacock in Karachi.
The dog, named Milli, was a family pet dog. One of the family member, Zehra tweeted, “She was on her evening walk with my father. There were peacocks outside their house, the door to their cage was open. Police officer on duty outside this SSP’s house shot her for that. She was on a leash with my 70 year old father.”
This is not about one incidence, but collective attitude of people towards animals. This barbarity resulted because of lack of empathy towards animals, which is deep rooted in our society, coupled with high handedness of police.

It would have been so easy just to give the owner a hand, to move Mili. This is so malicious and totally senseless and should definitely not go unpunished.

Milli lost her life just because an armed guard standing nearby thought he could do whatever he want and not held accountable as Milli was just a dog, , , lets prove him wrong , and get justice for Milli.
The heartless man will never be forgiven by Allah. The sad thing is people don't understand the gravity of injustice meted out to animals in our country and continue to be a shame to humanity world over. May milli rest in peace and may Allah instill some emotion and goodness into such stone-hearted and cruel people's hearts. For the love of humanity, love animals!

Gunfire so near to a person is wrong, very dangerous. Not to mention this dog could have been stopped short of killing it.
