The city finally confirmed they are installing the stop signs on E 66th. I am overwhelmed knowing our streets will be safer for our families because we refused to accept the status quo.

On Sept 21, 2013 a very disturbing accident happened on E 66th St and Gaylord Drive North (Mill Basin). A speeding Lamborghini was racing down E 66th and was going so fast, that another car which was making a Left turn on Gaylord Drive North did not even have a chance to see him. The Lamborghini was going so fast, that it split in half.

It seems to be a major problem that cars race down E66th St. all the time because last year, a similar accident happened on the same corner and hit the Electric pole. Please sign this petition so that we can make our local government get involved and see the necessity of installing Stop signs and or speed bumps in our community. Remember, it is only a matter of time before someone gets injured or killed by another reckless driver speeding down our neighborhood where our loved ones and friends walk up and down everyday.

Thank you.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings me back to the moment I saw that car split apart on our street. Knowing so many neighbors agree we need to stop this reckless speeding before a tragedy happens again gives me so much hope.

That accident was insane. My kids cross that street to get to the park all the time and I am always terrified. We need speed bumps now.

People treat this street like a race track. Its a residential area not a highway!! Fix this before someone dies.

Speeding on 66th is out of control. I see cars flying down that block constantly and it is only a matter of time before a kid gets hit. Put the signs up already.
