Please sign my petition requesting that collier county place speed bumps in the three following areas: Estey avenue, Lakewood blvd and coconut circle in East Naples Florida. Drivers are exceeding the limits upwards of 25+ mph, using this area as a cut-through and creating an extremely dangerous environment for children walking to and from school or to play safely. Just a few of the recent examples include: A 12 year old boy was hit and killed on the corner of Estey and Lakewood in November, a woman well exceeding the speed limit and using coconut circle as a cut through drove through our yard hitting a power pole and knocked down our neighbors fence last week; and a neighborhood child was hit by a side view mirror checking the mail earlier in the year. Speed limit signs are proving not effective to slow these drivers down. Several attempts have been made by myself and others to get in contact with collier county, I have become desperate to make our concerns and public safety a priority for our children and fellow neighbors.
