Updates

June 2, 2016

The feedback concerning the Hope Village project has provided valuable insight into how our neighbors perceive practical solutions to homelessness. I am currently reviewing these responses to better communicate our community needs to the City Council during upcoming discussions.

The level of public interest in Hope Village has grown into a powerful testament to our community values. This momentum indicates a clear path forward for those of us working to provide stable housing solutions in Medford.

We serve meals to Jackson County homeless, we see the need of shelter for these individuals, specially during the winter months. Please give your support to this cause.

This is a humane and sensible strategy for every city to adopt to help stabilize and transition people living on the street into long term housing. Many living on the street are there because of mental health issues; they deserve compassion.

I work in addiction recovery. It's been my experience that if a person can get stable housing, they can begin the work of recovery. When there's no place to consistently and safely lay your head, everything else becomes secondary.

If tiny houses are cool for affluent tourists who pay $150 a night to stay at the Tiny House Hotel in Portland, then they are certainly attractive & fashionable enough to have in Medford, providing basic shelter not to affluent tourists, but to people who really need a roof over their heads as they try to improve their lives.

There is such a huge need here, why is everyone pretending to ignore it? We've been homeless twice, not because we used drugs. Although we can't deny this is an issue to, of course. Someone finally is stepping up to offer a solution, so what's taking so long?

I hope that this prototype fairs well as an example of what we can do to solve the homeless challenge in America. Thanks for all your hard work and Good Luck!

I support this avenue of Love towards assisting the homeless or those in need of a little help to get back to normal for them. Cali Q's BBq & Catering along with The Children's Sanctuary, support and would like to partner in the concerns of our homeless.
