We, the residents of Hollybush Drive in Waterdown, and the families who live near Hollybush, petition the City of Hamilton to address increased traffic and high speeds at which people drive on Hollybush Drive between Parkside Drive and the park at Ryan’s Way. With the new housing developments in Waterdown, many drivers are using Hollybush Drive as a through-fare at high rates of speed, endangering children, cyclists and pedestrians. In the past six months, there have been at least two accidents and many near-accidents. We are asking for the City to improve road safety on Hollybush Drive through a stop sign at the intersection of Hollybush Drive/Longyear Drive/Chatsworth Crescent, reduced speed limits to 40 km an hour, and/or speed bumps.
