Stittsville side streets which connect to West Ridge Drive has a very real problem with speeding and dangerous drivers. These side streets have no sidewalks and a very high population of young children. On Streets such as Landswood Way, delivery drivers, contracting companies and visitors to the area routinely speed down these roads and have narrowly missed hitting children and other family members who must walk on these roads. This petition will be submitted to the city in an attempt to change the speed limit on these side streets to 30 km/h and make them posted Community Safety Zones. This will hopefully deter these aggressive drivers and keep our children and families safe, and prevent the inevitable.

The volume of support confirms that the city must acknowledge the traffic issues on West Ridge Drive. I am finalizing the formal request for a traffic calming study to be delivered to the municipal office next week.

I'm not sure I agree with 30km/h however, I think we need more (much more) enforcement and fines for speeding and people running stop signs.
We live on Mazari. There are many families with young kids, and too many drivers go flying down the street; someone is going to get hurt. I fully support this petition.
We are on Landswood Way and just recently bought a traffic calming sign to place at the end of our driveway given how quickly some people are driving past while our young children play.
The speed on landswood way has been a problem for years. I have almost been rear ended and passed as I went to turn onto my driveway because people come around the corner way to fast
Lloydalex is a death trap, I've conplained for 7 years..... we have major bus routes and NOT ONE sidewalk..... signs would be the minimum done... but SO needed.

Agreed! This is a very dangerous situation and I can attest to my own children narrowly being injured due to drivers disobeying the speed limit.
