Updates

The Lyon County Commissioners are clearly banking on the fact that we will get tired and go home. They are dead wrong because your comments prove this land is not for sale to the highest bidder.

I oppose the rezoning of the Holley Ranch. It would be detrimental to anyone who lives off of Dayton Valley road because of the added strain on our fire, police, schools, roads, water supply, and the ONE bridge connecting us to Highway 50.

Where is the water for these homes coming from? Not to mention the dangerous highway that's still two lanes in both directions? Until the county and state solve these problems, it's irresponsible to develop more land in the area. Looks like another greedy land grab by developers. Then we, the taxpayers, get to build the schools, fire department, and police departments that will service the homeowners before a penny in property taxes are collected. Nice!

I believe that tearing down a perfectly, well worked, USDA Certified Organic Ranch is not right! The devolopers of this property need to find another piece of land to put up their slap stick houses!

I have lived in Lyon County on and off for the past 38 years. I have watched Dayton go from a tiny "old timey" town with one '76 station, to a mini city....we have already lost sight of what made people want to move here. I live the quiet, and pretty soon, Lyon County will be what I moved out of Carson City to get away from. Keep some of our spaces open. PLEASE

126 Pebble Drive, Dayton. I don't w3ant to see Dayton become another CA with mini sized lots of houses upon houses. Require lots to be at least 8000 sq.ft., (small), preferably larger. Do not line builders pockets with more homes on tiny lots. I don't want Dayton to be another California.

I oppose this rezoning for the reasons stated by other residents, safety, resources, access, as well as the fact that many other housing projects have been started and left empty or incomplete, posing both nuisance and safety hazards.

I moved here from the megalopolis of Southern California to get AWAY from all the problems Reno/Sparks is starting to get, as it is trying to become the same kind of highly urbanized sewer. My parents retired here 22 years ago, and I always loved the wide open spaces and the roaming wild horses. Now that I live here, I enjoy regular, daily encounters with mustangs, eagles, antelopes, and more. I also enjoy freedom from traffic, and when I DO have to drive, I enjoy looking at the vistas of the sagebrush steppes. Thank God, however, this is a small place, because police, fire, and emergency response is very slow - and it will get worse if you keep cramming more people into this area. Additionally, this planned destruction goes against the Master Plan for this area, and is something developers are trying to get past the region's residents by sneaking around normal requirements of public hearings. Shame on you all.

Yes why take away what little beauty that any of our cities here in Nevada have if I was living out in Dayton where some of my family members do I would not touch that beautiful area at all whatsoever I think it's just disgusting how Reno and Sparks grew and now you want Carson and Dayton and all these other ones to be many little Casino towns leave Mother Nature alone preserve what little beauty we have left to look at besides iron concrete and windows high-rises and more and more apartment complexes
