This is a petition to show support for the efforts to stop the rezoning of the property between 60th and 64th that is south of Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale Township. The land owner would like this property rezoned from R1 residential to R3 residential. R3 zoning would allow for many uses including an apartment complex that could hold around 238 units or 700 bedrooms. This area is currently surrounded by a quiet neighborhood composed of single family homes. We would like to gather the support of the community to show the zoning board that we do not want an apartment complex in this area and would prefer to see single family homes.

Some of the concerns about this proposal include:

1) Increased traffic and the 55mph speed limit on 60th
2) The need for more police to respond to the increase in population
3) Introducing housing the could be utilized by students west of the area designated in the master plan
4) The impact this could have on existing property values
5) There is no plan on how this will be developed. R3 zoning only limits the density of the property, not the type of housing built.

Please only sign this if you live in Allendale Township Michigan and if you sign please put your street address in the comments as the zoning board requests this information when commenting publicly.

Thank you!

I have spent the last few days reading through your comments and I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you care about the future of our neighborhood. It is clear that this is a concern for many of us and I am just doing my best to organize the thoughts you have all shared so we can be ready for the upcoming board meeting.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum we have built together lately. This movement has grown far beyond what I imagined back when I started this in my living room, and it is entirely because of your dedication to our neighborhood.

We do not need anymore student housing. 1000 addresses we added in 2016 alone. Allendale is a great family oriented town. I don't want apts literally in my back yard. We live in the country. I'd like to keep it that way! 6055 Alger

There are enough people now that cut down Richard to Counrtyview to get to 60th, just so they can avoid having to make the Michigan left at 60th. How much more would it increase the traffic on Countryview?

Extremely concerned about the lack of sidewalks with an increased traffic flow from the potential I am against any type of rezoning of this property

Allendale has enough college housing. No reason for this parcel of land to be college housing. If you look around the newer places get leased, and the older places have vacancy's.

Whoever is behind this zoning request is only in it to pad their pockets; it is not in the best interest for the residents most affected by R3 zoning, or for the community at large. It is particularly insensitive to individuals whose property borders access streets. This should be put on a ballot for a community vote.

This rezoning would be ridiculous putting apartments literally on good people's property lines, people who are already established who enjoy not having 700 bedrooms watching them.
