My heart aches at the thought of losing the guiding hands and nurturing minds that have played such a crucial part in the collective growth of our community - the teachers and staff of our beloved San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD). The looming threat of layoffs dismays me. The prospect of their departure is personal to me and, I believe, to every student fortunate enough to learn and grow under their tutelage.
Despite the district ranking among the best in California for the last decade, teachers who have persistently dedicated themselves to molding inspired and empowered students face an uncertain future. In a district that boasts a 95% graduation rate and sends over 90% of its graduates to post-secondary education, it seems wildly counterintuitive to lay off those responsible for such exceptional performance (Source: California Department of Education).
Every teacher we stand to lose signifies a demotion of the unparalleled education standards that SRVUSD has proudly upheld over the years. I implore our representatives and key decision-makers to reconsider any layoffs and focus on preserving our collaborative educational environment. Let's collectively assert the importance of robust staffing in maintaining our district's renowned educational quality. It's time we stand up for those who have tirelessly dedicated themselves to our growth and learning. Please sign this petition and help us ensure that SRVUSD retains its invaluable educators.
I am currently compiling our list of signers to present directly to the school board members at their next public session. Post this link on your Facebook page and text three friends who have students in the district to ensure they know the risks to our current staffing levels.

Reaching this new level of support confirms that our community refuses to accept these cuts. Now is the time to increase the pressure by emailing your school board representative and texting three neighbors to tell them to sign this today.
