Hello,

I am a long time resident who lives on the 500 block of east Grand Ave. and I am asking for your support if you agree to the parking issues outlined in this petition. The reason I ask is once enough signatures are collected, my goal is to bring this to city leadership ( council) and ask for some changes to be made. I'm hoping for a better quality of life for those effected.

Issue: No Stopping between 6am to 8am - then 4pm to 6pm-Monday thru Friday. Weekends are exempt.- In plain terms, you cant park your vehicle in front of your house twice a day-or risk getting a parking ticket.

Proposed Resolution: Complete removal of this law or any agreed modification.

There are numerous problems that need to be addressed. One that I have noticed is that Grand Ave. sits empty at night because no one wants to move there car at 6AM. My area gets overwhelmed with church goers who don't live here taking all parking and side street parking-weekends included. Parking works for them since they leave at 7-8pm, while we, the people that live here drive around aimlessly looking for parking-its not working for local residents .This law also effects business whos patrons can not park in front of there shops during the afternoon hours of peak sales.
