The goal of the Friends of Lefferts Dog Run (FLDR) is to establish a community-managed dog run on Lefferts Place in the MTA-owned empty lot under the Franklin Avenue subway line. The run will allow dogs to exercise and
socialize safely, without bothering pedestrians or endangering themselves.
The run
would provide a meeting place for dog owners to socialize and will foster a
sense of community among dog owners, friends, and neighbors. Off-leash dog parks
promote responsible dog ownership for those who are willing to uphold the
park’s rules and restrictions with respect for their neighbors and community at
large.
The FLDR will maintain, monitor, and manage the dog run with assigned daily upkeep and quarterly Clean Up Days for members.
that lot is just full of trash and broken glass rn. turning it into a dog run would be way better for everyone on the block.
